Our maiden voyage

It was a spectacular weekend here and we finally got to take the boat out for a spin!  I was worried about how Jack would handle the whole experience, from being confined to a life jacket to having to sit on my lap for the whole ride.  He did really great and he was even able to crawl around when we were moving slowly.

Our maiden voyage was quite an adventure...I look forward to the next... :)

Amazing tree sculpture

I came across these trees in a blog post during my daily read today...I just wanted to share them.

I am just now picking my jaw up off the floor...aren't these trees incredible?

A little stroll

Jack took a stroll today across the living room! Here is the evidence...
(Sorry for the shakiness, I was on my knees trying to back up!)

Picnic at Ft. Adams

We took the short ride to Newport on Saturday for a picnic. It was a gorgeous spring day!

Rob and I took turns taking loooong walks with Jack. Jack was in charge and he guided us all around, pulling us by the finger, while managing the hills and bumpy terrain like a champ.

After lunch, we stopped for ice cream. Jack even had his own chocolate soft serve in a cone. I think he's the only kid in the world that doesn't like ice cream!

Oh well, that left more for us! :)

In honor of Earth Day...

Jack and I met some friends today for a picnic in the park. It's the perfect place to roll out a blanket for us moms, and to let the kids run/crawl around. Jack had fun with his friends, Euan and Laila, chasing balls and bubbles. Of course, he couldn't really compete while on his knees...but I know that very soon I'll be chasing him all over the place.

Well, this morning when I was packing our lunch, it crossed my mind that I have to get out of the habit of using so many plastic baggies! I actually used two for apple slices and goldfish crackers. Bad me. Well, in honor of Earth Day, I am going to cut down (I can't quite bring myself to say cut out) my plastic baggie use! Check out these cute reusable bags!

Climbing

Jack really doesn't want to miss anything. When we changed the furniture around in the living room, he figured out all by himself how to get to the windows to see whats happening around the neighborhood...

Here he is in-motion...
